Bourjois Rouge Edition Souffle de Velvet: A Review

Hello readers, this time I’m back with a beauty review on an amazing lip product that I received from Bourjois. The Bourjois’ Rouge Edition Souffle de Velvet liquid lipstick which was wrapped up in a simple packaging and sealed with a “kiss”, came into my letter box and made my day!
Souffle de Velvet is the latest addition to the Rouge Edition family of lipstick. Unlike its sister lipstick, the bold and intense Velvet range, Souffle de Velvet gives a more subtle hint of colour on the lips. The shades in this range are more fresh and light, yet vivid and bright.

Bourjois addressed me in my Chinese name that I rarely use.

I got shade 07, Plum Plum Pidou, which has a lovely hue of strong, medium dark pink. Its colour is as vibrant as a plum, and it looks like I have got a real plum stained on my lips after I applied the product. There were other colours in this range which I have yet to discover, and they are: 01 Orangelique, 02 Coquelie’oh!, 03 VIPeach, 04 Ravie En Rose, 05 Fuchsiamallow, 06 Cherry Leaders, and 08 Carameli Melo.

The amazing feature that I know about this series from the Rouge Edition is its unique blend of texture, resulting in a matte colour with semi sheer finish. This hybrid texture produces a perfect balance of moisture, while achieving the vivid matte colours. Sheer matteness indeed! Besides, this liquid lipstick provides softness and hydration up to 10 hours while maintaining its matte colour.

Colour: I love the shade at first swatch! Plum Plum Pidou really accentuated my lips and made my lips look fuller, and also completed my daily make up look. In fact, it does suit my skin tone very well. The liquid lipstick is much pigmented where only a small amount of lip product transferred by the applicator gave a dash of vibrant colour on my lips. It helps in giving me a more luscious and sexy lips. I must say that this shade is a must when you want to go for a sultry look.

Texture: The liquid of the lipstick has a lightweight texture, like a Soufflé, as the French dessert is also light and fluffy. It has velvety sheer matte finish upon application. It is also smudge proof and kiss proof, hence there is no worry about your lip colour being messy.

Moisture: Honestly, my lips was dry after application, probably I originally have dry and slightly chapped lips. However, it did not make my lips any drier. So I guess it does try its best to keep your lips moisturised up to 10 hours. In the case of dry lips, it is always better to apply a colourless lip balm prior the application of the lipstick.

Overall: What more I can say? Souffle de Velvet lipstick has officially become one of my favourite lip colours, especially when I am feeling bold and sexy.
