I finally got back to my hometown, Ipoh, after finishing the first half of my final year. It was one heck of a hectic semester, loaded with clerkship assignments, tests, and thesis, as well as a national pharmacy event. Boy, I wonder how did I pull that off, alive.

Coming back to Ipoh is always a different experience to me, because new shops or outlets are always coming to town. And there are some shops closed down, after a few years of business. These changes always greet me with surprise whenever I come back to my hometown, after a few months.

My hometown girl friend, Sherry, came up with an itinerary/suggestions for my sleepover at her place for 3 days. We didn't follow most of it, but we managed to go to most of the highlighted places.

Here are our highlights of our 3 day date

#1 Hot Jack Cafe

When we reached this place, I have to make sure if we arrived at the correct destination. The outer architecture resembles a typical chinese restaurant, where reunion dinners are usually held. But when I stepped into the cafe, the peaceful ambience of the place greeted me. Apparently, the place is crowded during weekends.

The featured lunch set menu caught my attention, where it comes with a drink (iced lemon tea, jasmine tea, ...), the main course, and ice cream. It is reasonably priced at RM 16++!

Main course: Pan grilled fish, with fries, coleslaw and mashed potatoes

This piece of dory fish is so smooth and soft, and complements with the Mongolian Garlic sauce. It looks small in portion, but it was more than enough for me!

Main course: Parmagia cheese pork with bacon. This also comes with coleslaw, and fries.

Overall:
NON Halal

Food: 3.9/5.0

Yes, I will definitely come back again! Definitely above par, for an Ipoh based restaurant, with such reasonable price!

#2 V Bridal Cafe- Korean Cafe

This tiffany blue colour themed cafe, is definitely not to be missed, during cafe hopping sessions in Ipoh. The ambience is warm and relaxed, and made me feel like a princess, pampered with soft toys and desserts.

Tiffany float! It's a mixture of soda and lemon, with sweet whipped cream.

Ham & Cheese Croissant. Overall, it was okay, but the croissant isn't fluffy enough, and it looks flat. It tastes quite salty too, probably they used too much of cheddar cheese.

I really love the colour concept, and it has great interior for our photo taking sessions. Also, we are thankful for the patient waitress who helped to take our photos. Their ideas on the menu are creative, as they incorporated the colour scheme into the food presentation, however, the taste requires much improvement.

Overall
Halal
Wifi available
Address: 54, Jalan Raja Musa Aziz, 30300 Ipoh, Perak.
Closed on Wednesday

Food: 2.9/5.0
Ambience: 4.8/5.0

Will come back again, if I were to tour guide my non Ipoh friends. Or if I have friends to catch up with, this would be the perfect place.

#3 Photoshoot @ Jusco Kinta City Rooftop Parking

This is actually the very first item on the itinerary- Movie and photo shooting! Finally I get to watch a horror movie on the BIG screen. It was so difficult for me to find someone to accompany me to watch horror movie in the cinema. We watched The Boy, and it wasn't as scary as what I expected. Probably I fear of movies with exorcism more than a haunted doll.

Our photoshoot session.

That wrapped up for the 3-day date with Sherry.
